Notes: Taconic SP now has a vehicle entrance fee. Bash Bish Falls SP does not.
Two adjacent parks (the trails connect) on the NY/MA border just north of Connecticut (not far from Catamount Ski Area). This area is rich with wonderful parks and trails (several of which are documented in this blog) and is especially beautiful in the fall.
We combine our trip with a hike up Bear Mountain (we did the shorter, more direct route to the summit) in the morning and two shorter hikes in the Northern section of Taconic State Park in the afternoon: one to the top of “Sunset Rock” and one over to Bash Bish Falls.
